One of the boys we have gotten to know and love through Compassion International just lost his father, probably to AIDS. He writes, “I am grieving because my father died this week.” I have his letter sitting on my kitchen counter and I really want to write him back, but I have no idea what to say. I want to extend more than compassion, I want to extend power, mercy, hope, resources, money, a plane ticket to Madison, WI. I realize I can’t do that, but I do want to do all that is in my power to do. I think it’s just to pray. “Just.” There is the issue. Please, Lord – help me believe that there is power in prayer. Help me tune into your will and your heart for this boy. What do you want his life to proclaim about you – his creator? Please join me in praying for Tuyishime.
